Hey what is the different n47 engine and b47 engine , i have heard that b47 improved engine from n47 , and usually have a timing chain issues but not in b47 as many as n47 ? What’s been really changed? Thanks

The car has 250000 kilometers and has a 2-liter diesel engine with 177 horsepower (N47 engine). He said he did this so we could have a good, reliable car. It is said on the internet that the chain should be changed periodically around 150,000 kilometers. He hasn't changed the engine chain yet, but his car looks really well-maintained and clean. and I know that if the chain breaks the engine can fail. Do you think it's risky to buy this car? gonna have to check this tomorrow , going to test drive a 2009 E60 5 series with that damn N47 Diesel in it , was hoping it was the older one , but the LCI models seem to have this one in it , is maintained in showroom condition tho , thats the reason i'm looking at it , but 149000 kilometers on the clock , so this could be an issue right about now if it has not been changed in the past. we do have a one year warranty on 2nd hand cars here in belgium , but still if it breaks , i doubt they'll own up to it
